Background information

The 2020 US electoral race was unique in many respects. The election had the highest percentage of voter turnout since 1900, and Biden received a larger number of votes than any other candidate in history. Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris, became the first woman, African American and Asian American to become Vice President.

As it became clear that the Democrats would win, Trump and other Republicans attempted to overturn the election, filing several lawsuits and claiming voter fraud. Following official investigations, their claim proved false.
