Andrew Okonkwo is another important character in Zadie Smith’s novella The Embassy of Cambodia. He is a Nigerian man and a Christian and Fatou’s only friend. Andrew is studying at the College of North West London for a part-time business degree and works as a night guard in London City. 

He is described as having a “chubby face”, a “struggling moustache”, “professorial glasses”. Fatou also mentions he has a “clammy, high-smelling body”. He wears a leather coat.
