Reception and criticism

The novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Green was a smashing success. In the U.S., it was on several bestseller lists, including the New York Times Bestseller and the Wall Street Journal Bestseller, and it was also an International Bestseller. It also received several awards, such as the CBC Award, Teen Book of the Year 2013, Book of the Year, Nickelodeon MPN Award, Brazil and Dioraphte Jongerenliteraturr Prijs, 2013. The novel was also extremely successful in countries such as Germany due to large sales figures. It won the Buxtehuder Bullen 2012 and the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis 2013 in the Young People's Prize category.
