Cato is the male tribute from District 2 in the novel The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. He is one of the Career tributes who trains for the Hunger Games and volunteers to take part so they can have a chance at winning. Cato is described as a “monstrous boy” (Chapter 3, 88%) who is “a ruthless killing machine” (Chapter 9, 70%), which makes him the strongest and most threatening tribute to Katniss.

Cato is a vengeful and raging tribute who enjoys killing. When Katniss blows up the Careers’ supplies, Cato loses control and instantly kills the tribute from District 3, his ally, who set up the mines around the supplies (Chapter 17, 19%).
